The community enjoying the Musselburgh Festival Day with horseriders crossing the ford at the historic Roman Bridge in the morning and then in the afternoon participating in a Beach Gallop, with riders of all ages taking their horses for a beach gallop along the shingle beach by the Firth of Forth .
